Naked Body Scanner Pics Circulated by London Airport Staff

The UK government assured travelers that the images from the mandatory naked body scans are immediately destroyed after passengers pass through scanners. Trouble is, that’s not true. Just days ago, naked scanner images of an Indian film star were printed out and circulated by London airport staff.

Irony: In the aftermath of the Christmas Day “underwear bomber,” security experts agree that a full-body scan still would still not have detected the bomb.

Patriot Act and Privacy

Unless renewed, three provisions of the PATRIOT ACT are due to expire at the end of this month. These provisions are . . .

1. Business Records: allows searches on your personal data without your knowledge if the FBI convinces a judge it is “relevant” to a terrorism investigation. The data could be computer-related, financial, medical, or even your library check-out history
2. Lone Wolf: allows the federal government to spy on a foreign person with no known ties to a foreign government or terrorist group — a power that’s never been used
3. Roving Wiretap: allows federal agents to intercept phone conversations without having to specify the person being investigated or which phone is being used

Health Care Privacy–Not!

Though Americans have loudly rejected government-managed health care, the PTB are still at it and may very well pass a bill before Easter that gives potentially thousands of federal government employees:

• Complete access to all your health records (mental & physical health).
• Access to your banking and other financial records.
• Access to all your IRS tax info, including gross income, deductions, dependents, Social Security numbers, etc.

How well does government take care of confidential information? Two days ago the California Department of Health Care Services admitted that they wrongly printed Social Security numbers of 49,352 Medi-Cal beneficiaries on the OUTSIDE of correspondence to beneficiaries. After the breach, the department said it has now begun sending notification letters to beneficiaries  advising beneficiaries how to protect themselves from identity theft by contacting the three credit reporting agencies and placing a fraud alert on their files.

They tell us all this is a small price to pay, to solve the problems with the health system. Really? Handing over our financial privacy, medical privacy and health care choices to big government is the best idea we can come up with?

Common sense says that you shouldn’t blog while you’re angry. Well, I’m pretty steamed and I’m posting this anyway.

Here’s the deal: Monday and Wednesday this week, the Speaker of the House and the President of the United States had closed-door, face to face meetings with the presidents of the AFL-CIO, SEIU, and UAW–the largest labor unions in the country. What back-room deals are they hammering out? Try this: how to pay for the likely $1 Trillion government health care plan without raising taxes on labor unions.

Specifically, Big Labor reportedly has struck a deal with health care negotiators to exempt union members from the 40% excise tax on high-priced health insurance premiums. FULL STORY HERE.

This is so NOT a “party” or “personality” issue, it’s about our current crop of corrupt politicians paying off organizations that keep them in power. With taxpayer dollars. In secret.  Behind closed doors.

News flash, politicians: Taking tax dollars from one group of people and subsidizing another group of people, whether it’s $100 Million for Louisiana, $100 Million for Nebraska, or a free ride for Big Labor, is wrong. What’s more, pitting groups of Americans against each other is going to backfire on you. Americans are NOT going to turn on each other. But we ARE after you. We ARE going to take our government back. We’re going to replace corrupt politicians, repeal outrageous legislation, and work to restore the American dream for our kids & grandkids.

P.S. To those who say “where was your outrage when Bush was…?” you’re RIGHT, a lot of the country was asleep. It is not an excuse to keep sleeping while we all continue to cook together. We ALL need to wake up and stand together against Big Government corruption and abuse of power.

Thought you might be interested…27 states that have already taken legislative steps to combat the Congressional Democrats’ health care bill, and 13 state Attornies General have joined together to prepare to sue the federal government over the constitutionality of such items as the Nebraska “Cornhusker Kickback” on Medicaid payments, mandate to purchase, etc.
